The Association of British Travel Agents, ABTA for short was formed in 1950. Now representing more than 5,500 travel agencies and 900 tour operations through the British Isles.
 
ABTA members range from the small and specialist tour operators and agents through to the huge mass market PLC’s with household names and from call centres to high street shops to internet bookings services.
The ability to display the ABTA logo is highly regarded by businesses and customers alike, and means choice, value and levels of service that are second to now.
 
ABTA’s main focus is to to maintain the prestigious brand that people look for, and continues to maintain the high standards of trading practice, for the benefit of its members, the industry as a whole and for the consumers.

ABTA’s amalgamation with the Federation of Tour Operaotrs (FTO) in July 2008 has increased its awareness and combined has a strong and authorative voice for our industry.
